What is this female gaze and why is it important? With examples from film photography and science. Don’t miss this first session with Film Reframed, story boarder Roman Cuilla will explain Gaze and Bias with a focus on African Women Film makers. Thihangwi Ramutsindela, University of Cape Town (South Africa) and Dr. Juliet Karisa, Marine Scientist (Kenya) will be discussing the Female Gaze from an African Point of View.

HALF DAY WORKSHOP Join us out on the ocean and listen and record some real ocean soundscapes, putting into practice what we will have learned with Tess Gridley and Sasha Dines. The 2 deck Southern Right ship will take us out of Simon’s Town, for some ocean recording sessions, if we’re lucky with humpback whale and dolphin!
